Former Walmart EVP of Logistics and NewRoad Capital Operating Partner brings three decades of supply chain leadership
SAN FRANCISCO, July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Voxel, the computer vision AI company revolutionizing workplace safety and risk, today announced the appointment of Chris Sultemeier to its Board of Directors. Sultemeier brings over 30 years of leadership experience in supply chain operations, having served as Executive Vice President of Logistics at Walmart, where he oversaw over-the-road trucking, global shipping, and warehousing operations.
Currently an Operating Partner at NewRoad Capital Partners, which led Voxel's recent $44 million Series B funding round, Sultemeier has developed expertise across transportation, third-party warehouse distribution, fulfillment, and retail industries. His appointment strengthens Voxel's strategic guidance as the company scales its AI-powered safety platform globally.
"Chris brings unmatched expertise in scaling operations at one of the world's most complex supply chain environments," said Vernon O'Donnell, CEO of Voxel. "His knowledge of the operational challenges our customers face, combined with his track record of building safety-focused organizations, makes him an invaluable addition to our board."
"Voxel is solving problems that all industrial and supply chain leaders understand - how to keep people safe while running complex, high-velocity environments," said Chris Sultemeier. "Their platform brings real-time visibility to places where it's been missing for too long, and the team has built something that works. I'm excited to work with the entire Voxel team as they continue to transform how organizations approach workplace safety. The opportunity to help scale technology that directly protects workers while improving operational efficiency aligns perfectly with my belief in building sustainable, people-first organizations."
During his tenure at Walmart, Sultemeier was responsible for supply chain operations serving over 10,400 stores worldwide and coordinating with more than 100,000 suppliers-moving billions of dollars in goods annually while maintaining industry-leading safety standards. In 2007, he received the prestigious Sam M. Walton Entrepreneur of the Year Award on Sustainability, recognizing his commitment to responsible business practices. Sultemeier holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, served as an Army Airborne Ranger, and received his professional engineering license in Civil Engineering.
