  • Genesis hosts Child Creativity Lab STEAM workshop at the TGR Learning Lab Philadelphia
  • Students receive firsthand look at a Genesis vehicle and learn about the vehicle design process from industry experts

PHILADELPHIA, July 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Genesis celebrated the expansion of its partnership with TGR Foundation at the TGR Learning Lab Philadelphia to advance science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education for youth in the community. In collaboration with Child Creativity Lab, Genesis hosted a STEAM workshop at TGR Foundation's new Learning Lab in West Philadelphia, which provides students with access to education and opportunities to gain real-world experiences and skills.

"Access to quality education programs is critical to fostering a love for learning and empowering the next generation to excel in STEAM fields," said Brandon Ramirez, director, corporate social responsibility, Genesis Motor America. "Genesis is proud to grow its partnership with TGR Foundation and celebrate the opening of the TGR Learning Lab Philadelphia, which will undoubtedly provide more students with opportunities to explore and engage in creative problem-solving activities."

In the workshop, students learned about the vehicle development process and engaged in an advanced technology demonstration of an electrified Genesis vehicle featuring recycled materials and zero emissions. Students then conceptualized and created their own innovative future mobility vehicles using upcycled materials, combining hands-on learning with real-world applications to foster a passion for STEAM subjects.

"Thanks to the partnership with Genesis, our students have an incredible opportunity to gain real-life learning experiences in a high demand industry," said Hrag Hamalian, president, TGR Learning Labs and national programs. "Access to experienced professionals along with the ability to engage in hands-on STEAM-based projects really accelerates the students' knowledge and helps them align their passions with future career opportunities."

TGR Foundation was launched in 1996 by Tiger Woods and his parents Earl and Tida to positively impact the lives of young people from under-resourced communities. Tiger's vision is to create safe, inspiring spaces that empower students to pursue their passions through education. At the TGR Learning Lab, students receive opportunities, experiences and mentors that help them gain the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to unlock their unlimited potential. The flagship TGR Learning Lab in Anaheim, California, which opened in 2006, has served over 200,000 students through programs focused on STEAM educational enrichment, health and well-being and career and college readiness. The second TGR Learning Lab opened in April at the Cobbs Creek Golf and Education Campus in West Philadelphia.

Earlier this year, Genesis hosted its STEAM workshop and career day at the flagship TGR Learning Lab Anaheim for students interested in automotive careers. Students heard from Genesis employees in an industry career panel, learning about professions in product planning, design, quality, and engineering. Employees shared their stories, insights, and answered questions about personal and academic development.

These programs complement a series of education and learning opportunities provided by Genesis as part of its 5-year partnership with TGR Foundation to advance STEAM education for youth.
